The UK

On Thursday early morning I took the Eurostar train to London. It took about 2 hours, give or take, and went under the channel! I slept through most of it, thankfully, because I was exhausted! After arriving at London St. Pancras Kings Cross, I took the tube south on the Northern Line to Balham to walk to my Aunt Leni and Uncle Joe's flat there. It was a total of about 45 minutes after I got off the Eurostar before I got to their house, and boy was I glad to see them!

Joe took me into the downtown of Balham to do a bit of errands and shopping and to get tea and coffee at a local cafe, which was very nice and cute. Once we got back, Joe started on dinner and I took a long hot bath--much needed! Here is what Joe made us:

The next morning I got up early, had breakfast, and headed back on the Northern Line to Kings Cross again, this time to board the Southeastern High Speed train to Canterbury. I had to transfer at Ashford, and the total times of both trains took less than an hour and a half. I got there to the Canterbury West station and Jesse picked me up and walked us back to his and Vic's house. It is a very cute little town with old, almost Danish style, houses and shops. Jesse and I walked around the town a bit and then went to get drinks and dinner, and we got home around the time Vic did from work. The next day, we slept in and relaxed in the house for a few hours, then went out to lunch at a cute asian restaurant. Vic and I spent some time walking around the town after that while Jesse worked a bit, then we all went out to drinks and then dinner at a wonderful Mexican restaurant!

Here are some pictures from the town:

And here is the cathedral in the town (it's gorgeous!):

And, here's all of us cheesin' at the restaurant (Jesse and I matched totally on purpose):

The original plan was to stay there another night and then head to London in the morning to catch my early Eurostar back to Paris, however because I would leave on Sunday, the train times were weird and the only one that would get me back in time left extremely early in the morning. Instead, after dinner I took a direct train on the Southeastern train to London and crashed in a hostel for one night. The next morning I went to Kings Cross and hopped on the Eurostar back to Paris. Here's the station in London (very close to where I stayed when I was here last):

Let the adventures in Paris begin (again)!!
